Team Member Spotlight: Bridget Pratt

Team Member Spotlight: Bridget Pratt

Our employee spotlight this month shines on Bridget Pratt, our firm’s Director of Talent Acquisition. We’re excited to share some highlights from a recent conversation with her:

Q:  What inspired you to get involved with health IT consulting?

A:  I was presented with an opportunity to recruit in the health IT world about 8 years ago and it just made sense as the next step in continuing to challenge myself on my career path.  I actually started my professional career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and made a career change by becoming a recruiter who recruited CPA’s. Since then I have spent decades recruiting for professional services. I made the shift towards health IT because it was a perfect opportunity to leverage my background and experience while learning a new market. I find the industry endlessly fascinating!

Q:  What do you enjoy the most about health IT consulting?

A:  Given the changes in the industry, the skill sets I’m recruiting for are very different today than they were a few years ago.  For example, experience with Accountable Care Organizations and Patient-Centered Medical Homes was in high demand a few years ago and now it’s trending towards telehealth and analytics.  Being aware of these industry trends and the type of talent health organizations need from us is never boring. I always learn something new in my conversations with our candidates.

Q:  What is something that you would like to achieve?

A:  When talking to candidates, my role is to educate them about Healthlink Advisors, our core values and to determine if the candidate is a good fit for these values. I was employee number seven.  That means I have been a brand ambassador to every candidate, contact and their networks since the beginning. I thrive off creating a buzz about Healthlink Advisors and perfecting the art of attracting the best fit for our growing team.

Q: Looking back, is there advice that you wish you had been given upon entering the industry?

A:  The first thing that comes to mind is that it’s critical to remain open-minded.  Though our experience over the years is valuable there will always be something new to learn. The perk of my role is that I’m able to surround myself with industry experts who have that same mentality – they push themselves to learn more regardless of how much experience or knowledge they already possess. Check your ego at the door and let’s learn from one another because it will benefit the team in the long run.

Q:  What are you passionate about?

A:  Staying active with my family is important to me so we’re always signing up to learn new things.  This past winter I learned to play paddle tennis and for this upcoming summer, it’s golf lessons!

Traveling is something we love to do together as well – having lived overseas, it is important to me to show different cultures to my kids.

Q:  Please share a few random fun facts about yourself.

A:   I’ve lived in Paris and London at different times in my life.  I love the beauty of traveling abroad with my camera ever ready. My friends and family rely on my extraordinary memory of movie quotes. And, in keeping with our core value of “making healthy choices,” I joined OrangeTheory Fitness this past year and completed my 200th class, the week before spraining my ankle!
